Where to position a water feature

Your pond or water feature should be situated in the sun or at least a lightly shaded area. They thrive the best in partial shade so that any plant life can get enough sunlight. A water feature can survive in the dark, but you run the risk of more algae growth and an unstable water temperature.
How to install a water feature?
There are many different types of water features – fountains, wall water features, ponds or bubbling rocks, for example. Depending on your specific water feature will determine how to install it. But, so you have an idea of what to expect, we will outline the general steps to install a water feature below.
Step 1
Prepare the surface for the outdoor water feature. This may look like digging a hole for a pond and lining it with an underlayer or removing some pavers and laying stones down. Place your water feature base in the desired location and secure it based on its specific instructions.
Step 2
Time to install your pump. Feed the power cord for the pump through the side chamber hole and plug the hole with a waterproof epoxy repair. Set rocks around your pump to keep it in place if it doesn’t have something holding it steady. Add any other decorative features to the inside of your water feature.
Step 3
Be sure you are happy with your water features location, plug in your pump to your outdoor electricity socket and fill it up! Test the fountain and the pump to ensure it moves water through correctly. You can easily hide any plastic lining with plants and stones.
